As if last week’s news wasn’t exciting enough, I’ve got something else to share with you all today. I’ve been holding onto this news for a while now, and I can finally say that my co-author, John Bladek, and I are pleased to announce our latest project.
If you subscribe to my newsletter, you more than likely already saw that we just finished the first draft in a new medieval fantasy series! Perfect for fans of “The Hobbit”, “Stardust”, and “The Princess Bride”, this series is a lighthearted adventure sure to enchant readers both young and old. Here’s a first look at the story’s premise for book one:
In a time of old when knowledge of magic is waning, Eldrus, a retired, washed-up wizard, is forced to return to his courtly duties. When a strange plague creeps into the kingdom’s outer lands, the king tasks Eldrus with stopping the deathly pestilence before it engulfs the country. Upon finding that a longtime ally, a fellow wizardess, has gone missing, Eldrus reluctantly accepts the help of his resentful last apprentice, Giles.
Joined by a magical fox named Bryn, the unlikely trio sets out to discover the plague’s dark, mystical secrets. Encountering lake serpents, fairies, and treachery on their quest, they journey into the mysterious wilds in search of a spell to disarm the plague. But the magic they seek lies carved in riddles on guarded standing stones built by the legendary wizard Merlin. Steeped in Celtic folklore, “The Last Wizard of Bretonia” is a heartfelt tale cloaked in myth and debuts the “Obsidian Mirror” series by bestselling author duo Davonna Juroe and John Bladek.
(Expected publication: Fall 2020)
I can’t wait for you all to read it, and I’ll be updating you along the way!
